As the end of the school year is fast approaching our schedule is filled with field trips and reward parties. Over the easter break we brought each of our reading kids over to the house for an easter egg hunt, egg dying, video games, movies, a home cooked meal, and dessert. The kids loved playing video games and many of them were super excited to help out in the kitchen. We ended up having some bad weather, but we were able to change our easter egg hunt into a scavenger hunt witch clues hidden in easter eggs throughout the house which the kids also enjoyed!

Back in the fall Haley led a conference for Romanian teachers working with kids. Our goal was to create greater collaboration between us and the teacher and provide them with materials and resources so that they can better educate our children.

We provided the teachers with reward charts and stickers. The teachers rewarded the kids with stickers for completing assignments, good behavior, or having a good attitude. The kids gave us daily updates and let us know who had the most stickers in their class and who, unfortunately, had the least. We encouraged the kids to do well in class, pay attention, and work hard, because there was going to be a surprise for the kids who earned 25+ stickers.

This past week the "surprise" finally came. With the help of our super awesome Canada team we were able to provide the kids with a carnival! We had 40+ students and their teachers come to a decorated event hall for a day of fun. There were multiple carnival games, a cake walk, and face painting. The kids had a great time celebrating their achievements while consuming massive amounts of candy and collecting numerous prizes from the different game stations.

After the Carnival party success we were able to take kids from our character classes to the zoo for a reward party. We took two groups and still have a third trip on the calendar in a couple weeks time.
