{back to school}

11:11 AM

As I teacher, back-to-school was always a stressful time- lots of planning and paperwork! But it always paid off when my students came to school excited to learn! Here in Romania, we are in full back-to-school mode, with several hiccups along the way.

Due to delayed construction projects, our kids have not officially started school yet.  They have no school building! The building is projected to be done in January- so they will miss out on at least 3 months of learning.

Lack of space aside, we have begun our classes and lessons. Our reading classes have expanded to include 34 kids, and additional subjects such as math and writing.  All of our lessons are done in a tiny bedroom, but we make it work! The kids are excited to have so something to do, and it's great to see the progress from last year continue.

We are also happy this year to be working with another H2H staffer, Mariana!  We get to work along side her this year teaching reading, math, character classes and youth group.

We are so thankful that even though there is no school and no real classroom to speak of, God has provided a small space for us to work.  There are lots of changes happening at the orphanage. Please pray for wisdom and compassion on the part of all who work there and make decisions for the kids' lives and futures.
