{what our hearts feel}

12:28 PM

It's been an amazing holiday season celebrating the birth of our Lord, the new year, Steven's birthday, and hanging out with the holiday teams.  There have been some wonderful moments with the kids that really have melted our hearts.  Sometimes it is hard to even put into words what our hearts feel here when we spend time with the kids.  I think pictures help...

{simple play days.}  They are the best.  There is nothing like having a kid ask you to watch them go down the slide 50 times.  Or asking you to go down the tube slide with them even though you are practically the width of said slide.  Or teeter-tottering with a big-kid.  Just playing is a blessing.  And when they chose to play with us, we feel the happiest we've ever felt.

{sweet siblings.} Watching them love each other is beautiful.  Especially when you catch them showing love when they think no one is watching. Like during worship time singing praises to their Father. Family is such a blessing, and we love to witness the LOVE that God gives them for each other.

{gifts of humility.} Steven received a gift for his birthday from one of our boys.  He had saved all his money and bought Steven a nice shirt, scarf and chocolate.  He wrote a sweet card, further revealing his beautiful heart.  There were several emotions felt; thankfulness, love, an undeserved blessing.  There aren't really words that describe that kind of love, but it is the kind of love that reflects God's character ad heart.

{boy time.} Just telling jokes and being boys.  And laughing and being silly.  And maybe a little gross :)

{i love yous.} There is nothing better in the world than to hear and say those words over and over.

Sometimes there aren't enough words to describe the joy in our hearts when we spend time with our kids.  It's something only God could do and we are thankful just to be here.
